American Beer Classic

Problem: Create an identity for American Beer Classic, a beer festival that takes place within sports stadiums and arenas across the U.S. The logo should have an “All-American” feel, while still feeling sophisticated and not too “sports-like”. 

Solution: I created a logo that encompasses an “All-American” feeling, while also tying in the beer aspect through the use of gold and wheat imagery. I worked on many aspects of American Beer Classic, from the logo & website creation, to print and digital marketing, to social media design. I acted as the Visual Brand Manager for American Beer Classic for 2+ years, making sure that all visual aspects of the brand remained consistent. 

 

The Great American Bacon Festival

Problem: Create an identity for The Great American Bacon Festival, a festival celebrating bacon, featuring tastings of gourmet bacon dishes, and unlimited bacon. The identity shouldn’t feel “BBQ-esque” and should have a sophisticated feel. 

Solution: I created a logo that pulls in the “American” aspect of the festival, while also including imagery that ties in pork & bacon, without losing a feel of sophistication. I also worked on the website design for The Great American Bacon Festival, as well as print and digital marketing materials, and dedicated email blasts. I acted as Visual Brand Manager for The Great American Bacon Festival, making sure that all visual aspects of the brand remained consistent. 

The Bearded Sole

I had the opportunity to create the personal logo for my good friend Adam Kimble's brand, "The Bearded Sole". What better way to showcase his signature Forrest-Gump-esque beard and his love of ultrarunning and endurance racing? 

Enable Impact

Fresh Co.

Problem: Create an updated logo for the Fresh Co. food brand, appearing at Firefly Music Festival. The logo should have a modern and clean feel, while still appearing fun and colorful.

Solution: I created a logo that pulls in various ingredients that are used in Fresh Co.’s dishes. I chose a modern sans-serif typeface that balanced the weight and style of the simplified food items, and bright colors to reflect the freshness and quality of the ingredients in Fresh Co.'s dishes.

Firefly Music Festival Merch

Problem: Create unique designs for the Women’s and Unisex tank tops in the Firefly Music Festival official merchandise store. 

Solution: I chose to tie together the “Woodlands” aspect of Firefly with the “Music” aspect of the festival by using plants and flowers native to Delaware (where the festival is held) to form the shape of headphones. I created a more feminine-style drawing including flowers and lighter colors for the Women’s tank, while taking a more “woodsy” route with the Unisex tank illustration and using bright colors inspired by the lights at nighttime shows at the festival. 

Information Design

Various inforgraphics and illustrations I created for B2B and sponsorship materials for a variety of Red Frog Event’s brands. I served as the go-to for Sponsorship Kit design, B2B material design, and Sales Kit design during my time at Red Frog Events. 

Bigfoot Reusables

Bigfoot Reusables is the product of a year of work at the University of Michigan School of Art and Design. For more info about the process and research behind the creation of this brand, check out my full thesis at the bottom of the page.

SPC Retail

Problem: Create B2B and promotional/informational materials for Structural Plastics Corporation’s SPC Retail division of their company. 

Solution: I created this informational book about the SPC Retail brand. I worked with the Sales and Marketing teams at SPC to develop the “SPC Retail Design Lab”, a concept that shows how consumers can use the SPC Retail products in creative ways that they may not expect. The book was printed on recycled plastic, reflecting SPC’s product, which is made completely of 100% post-consumer recycled plastic. I also worked on creating signage and booklets for use at Globalshop and NACS trade shows

These photos were taken at Firefly Music Festival in 2013 with a Nikon D80 DSLR and various telephoto and wide angle lenses.
